Known as the ‘King of Ghazal’, his impeccable voice and remarkable talent inspired a generation of singers from various genres and earned him earned numerous awards and accolades. Before his singing career, Ustad Mehdi Hassan used to work as a humble mechanic. He first got his opportunity to showcase his talent on Radio Pakistan, which earned his recognition.

Regrettably, due to a severe illness, he had to retire in 1999. In 2010, he briefly stepped outside of retirement and composed the song ‘ Tera milna bohat acha lage ‘alongside Lata Mangeshkar. Two years l, he took his last breath and parted from earth.
